The Community Panel believed the ad made light of a serious safety issue and minimised the danger of becoming distracted while driving. The complaint was upheld. Upheld - AANA Code of Ethics (Health and safety) Too much cheekA mobile billboard ad for a gentlemen’s club raised concerns over the use of sexual imagery in advertising that would be visible to children. The Community Panel found that the image in the ad was overtly sexual and not appropriate for a broad audience. The complaint was upheld. Upheld - AANA Code of Ethics (Sex, sexuality and nudity) BacklashA social media ad promoting a ”Black” branded lager in a black can with the caption "Once you go black..." raised concerns over racist connotations of the phrase. The Community Panel found that this statement is a form of fetishisation based on race and was in breach of Section 2.1 (Discrimination or vilification) of the AANA Code of Ethics.
