New categorisation tool for research and development (R&D) introductions

##

We’ve launched a self-guided categorisation
decision tool
for importers, manufacturers and suppliers to determine whether a chemical introduction meets the criteria for:

R&D exempted (very low risk) category
R&D reported (low risk) category

Answer the questions in the decision tool to:

  • work out if an introduction meets AICIS's R&D criteria
  • check whether an R&D introduction is eligible for the exempted or reported category
  • understand what to do next if it doesn’t qualify.

Our 2 June 2026 snapshot of all the chemicals on the Inventory is available as an Excel file (.xlsx).

Go to our inventory search page to download

For up-to-date information, search for chemicals on the Inventory to check regulatory obligations related to importing or manufacturing those chemicals.

The downloadable Inventory does not contain links to chemical assessment reports. You can search for assessments or evaluations on our website.

New guide on using IUCLID

""

Applying for an assessment certificate? Or providing chemical information as part of an application?

You'll need to create a chemical dossier in IUCLID and our new guide steps you through this.

Our guide shows you where and how to enter the required information about your chemical in IUCLID. Use it alongside our assessment certificate application guide.

Important! Once you've finished entering the required information, use the validation checker to find errors or omissions. Our guide includes instructions on how to do this.

How to prepare for 2026–27 registration renewal

##

Update your contact details in the business services portal

Registrations for 2026–27 open in mid-July, but in the meantime, it's a great idea to check that your contact and business details are up to date.

To do this, log into your AICIS Business Services account and check the registration contact person's name, email address, business address, postal address and trading name.

Reset your password

Passwords for your AICIS Business Services account expire every 3 months to protect the information you give us. If you haven’t logged in for a while, you may need to reset your password.
