The new school year is here, and it is the end of the fiscal year for Care New England and Lifespan. The BIRCH Project Team and Internal Advisory Committees are “cooking with grease” and collaborating on how we will align our research operations.
For examples, here are a few things we’re working on:
- Assessing Lifespan’s research
space utilizing Brown University’s evaluation model
- Walking through the current lifecycle of a clinical trial at each institution to understand the start-up and conduct of trials
- Assessing some of the current administrative systems we use and pricing out future administrative systems we may want to use
- Sizing our current research portfolios using the same metrics
These conversations are crucial to the development of our operational model, financial model, and joint research strategic plan.
We’re also engaging important stakeholders across our communities by leveraging existing forums to discuss BIRCH. This month, our CSO and CAO are attending Butler Hospital’s researchers meeting and the Medical Faculty Executive Committee meeting.
Additionally, we are rolling out BIRCH virtual walk-in hours with our CSO and CAO for anyone who has comments or
questions. The first session will be Wednesday, September 27th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, via Zoom: https://brown.zoom.us/j/91076125814.
In the following month, look for updates regarding our website go-live and visual world.
