Why not nominate them for a 2024 NBN Award for Wildlife Recording? You can even nominate yourself! Closes: 3 April 2024 Make your data work for nature!Every record made on iNaturalistUK is an important piece of information that can be used to help us build our understanding of the UK’s biodiversity. If you are recording using iNaturalist its likely that you want to share that information as widely as possible. Each wildlife sighting, sometimes called a ‘biological record’ is assigned a licence. The default when you sign up to iNaturalist is CC-BY-NC. In the UK we need as many records as possible to be assigned a CC0 or CC-BY licence. You can read more about them here. https://uk.inaturalist.org/blog/88417-how-and-why-to-update-observation-licences If you only take one action after reading this email please make it to update your licence setting to, ideally, CC0 for observations. Android app users go to Settings > Default Licenses and click on the different licence types to change (Observation, Photo and Sound). Website and Apple phone users will need to go to iNaturalistUK: Account Settings > Content and Display > Licensing City Nature Challenge 2024This annual global bioblitz continues to grow, not only globally but in the UK too.
