Olayinka Oyegbile, selects five books to help the new president in leading Africa’s most populous country. The list is eclectic. It includes fiction, non-fiction, autobiography, and political economy. One book is recommended for its slim size - The Trouble with Nigeria - which could give the president-elect a quick start.

If passed, South Africa will become the third country, after New Zealand and Belgium, to take this step. While there is opposition to this bill, Marlise Richter and Monique Huysamen unpack why fully decriminalisation is the best approach.
