Each section, distinct in form and content, presents an aspect of the studio’s design process from a different analytical, artistic, critical or editorial point of view. David Kohn spoke at a symposium with former Brussels Master Architect Kristiaan Borret at New College Oxford where David Kohn Architects designed the Gradel Quadrangles. Organised by the Embassy of Belgium, the idea was to learn from the Belgian Bouwmeester approach to urban regeneration and embed good placemaking and design in Oxford. Grand Designs House of the Year 2025 is showing on Wednesday evenings hosted by Kevin McCloud. Having won House of the Year for Red House in 2022, David chaired the 2025 jury with Livia Wang, Gill Lambert and Amalia Skoufoglou to decide the winner. Architect Bie Plevoets describes how the "delicate intervention gives the ruin" of the Hasselt convent "a new identity" - it is "no longer a mere romantic fragment, but a distinct architectural space that once again takes its place as the heart of the beguinage."
