This past month has been eventful for the University Higher Degree by Research Committee (UHDRC). The Office of Graduate Research (OGR) is now fully operational in its new location. Across all colleges, HDR students have been actively engaging in events designed to support their progression and academic journeys.

Congratulations to Rahkesh and Daniel

Rahkesh Sabapathy and Daniel Baez have both received highly competitive travel awards of the American Society for Cell Biology for attending Cell Bio 2024 in San Diego, which is the major global cell and molecular biology conference.

CNHS and CMPH are hosting a Campus Activation at the Health and Medical Research Building on Monday 18 November, 10am-11:30am. Staff and students are welcome to come and learn more about the space, and the cultural narrative of the building design, hear from some of our research leaders and researchers and view some of the building and workspaces.

Adopt a plot at the Grow Eat Learn Community Garden!

Help us revitalise the Grow Eat Learn Community Garden by adopting your own patch.
You’ll be responsible for stopping by every week or two to give your plot some love and care with weeding and watering, and keeping a watchful eye on it (like your own little plant babies)!
Join in as a club, friend group or individual and share the space with your little patch community. FUSA will supply a range of seasonal vegies and herbs you can plant in your plot, all you need to do is register your interest.

Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector’s new PhD program

The Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector was established after the Gender Equality Bill 2019 (Vic) passed in February 2020. The Commission supports the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner to oversee the implementation of the Gender Equality Act 2020 and promote gender equality in the public sector workforce and the broader Victorian community.  Applications close on 15 November 2024.

The Best HDR Student Publication Award is an initiative of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) that celebrates the best student publications for each College. Students are invited to submit one first authored publication that makes significant original contribution to your field of study. New Updated REST Program available

The new REST FLO site is now complete and available to HDR students. The FLO site has newly developed learning modules mapped to the Doctoral Graduates Attributes and skills, helping students to access relevant material as they need it. All online courses from Epigeum and Udemy have also been embedded into the learning modules, and mapped to their corresponding skill, making it easier than ever to access learning.
