Click here Exciting updates from TCID's latest series on academic misconduct in Indonesia The Conversation Indonesia has received an overwhelmingly positive response to our investigative series on academic misconduct in Indonesia, which we launched last week. As part of our pursuit of promoting truth and integrity in academia, we have collaborated with Tempo Magazine and Jaring.id to unearth illicit activities involving lecturers and university and government officials since six months ago. These practices have cost billions of Indonesian taxpayers money. Since the release of our article, our newsroom inbox has been flooded with stories from individuals affected by academic misconduct. Most of them are victims who complain about the lack of clarity in the investigation process. We also record higher-than-average engagements and interactions responding to the article on our social media accounts. Our social media posts on the issue attracted the second-highest engagement throughout 2024. But it is just a start. Tempo and Jaring will soon publish their investigative reports, while The Conversation Indonesia aims to deliver more impactful stories. So, stay tuned! The Conversation Indonesia is calling academics and researchers focusing on the Aceh Tsunami to send their pitches so we can publish your piece in our special edition of the 20th anniversary of the Aceh Tsunami. Send your pitch here. We will be off for Eid Holiday from April 8 to 16. Happy holidays all! Warmest, Ika Krismantari
To anticipate the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation during the campaign, The Conversation Indonesia (TCID) has set up a fact-checking expert panel of our authors. Recently, the initiative has received support from The Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) to collaborate with two other reputable media - Tempo and Kompas - to amplify the project's impact. If you are an academic or researcher, you can join the panel by registering via this link.
