Happy New Year! We hope your Christmas and New Year’s season was filled with joy and rest. As we welcome our students back to University Hill for the start of the spring semester, we’re grateful for the continued partnership we share with you. In this edition of our newsletter, you’ll find several ways to stay involved in the life of DBU—especially updates on opportunities to host or attend one of our Parent Prayer Gatherings. We hope you’ll join us!

May God bless you and your family in this new year.

Parent Prayer Gatherings

In October, we hosted eight different Parent Prayer Gatherings, organized by several of our incredible DBU parents. These gatherings provided dozens of DBU parents with the opportunity to connect with other parents and pray for their students and the University. Thank you once again to our amazing prayer gathering hosts and to all of the parents who were able to attend and pray at these gatherings.

Due to the success of these gatherings, we plan to offer them again in the Spring semester. If you would be interested in hosting a prayer gathering in your community, please email Dr. Dale Braswell at daleb@dbu.edu to express your interest. Let's continue to pray for our students and DBU, knowing that God hears our prayers and will answer them for His glory!

DBU Baseball Opening Day is February 13! We invite DBU parents and families to join us at the ballpark as we kick off another exciting season of Patriot Baseball. Bring the whole family and cheer on our student-athletes as they compete with excellence on and off the field. Whether it’s Opening Day or any home game this season, there’s nothing like the energy, fellowship, and school spirit of DBU Baseball! We hope to see you in the stands!

Be part of something lasting! The Patriot Legacy Bricks campaign offers a unique opportunity to leave a piece of your legacy, cemented onto the DBU campus, by purchasing a personalized brick that will be installed in the beautiful plaza just outside the new Carter School of Business building.

Whether you’re honoring your time at DBU, celebrating a loved one, or inspiring future generations of Christ-centered servant leaders, your brick becomes part of the physical and spiritual foundation of the new School of Business.

New Students

Spring 2026 classes begin January 20, and DBU will welcome new students who are stepping into a new environment, often leaving behind friends and familiar support systems. Please pray that our new students will connect with peers and professors. Pray that they will plug into campus opportunities that deepen their faith. Pray that they will have the self-confidence to participate fully in campus life, and share their gifts.

Maintenance and Landscaping Staff and Student Workers

From Matt Dewhirst, Physical Operations: "With colder weather this month, please keep our maintenance and landscaping staff and student workers in your prayers. Pray for diligence in our efforts as we work to prepare campus for the spring semester and pray for safety and energy for our team should inclement weather conditions impact campus this year.”

Administration

Please pray for each member of DBU's Administration by name as they seek God's wisdom for the University in 2026.
