About the Workshop...

If your community collects what will become Non-Eligible sources as of transition, this informative and interactive online workshop is for you. It will help you:

  1. Sort out collection options for Non-Eligible sources, during and post transition
  2. Outline an individual community plan to address pending changes

Workshop Objectives

  • Understand transition impacts on Non-Eligible sources

  • Sort through options and determine what is best for your community

  • Understand data needs and data collection methodologies

  • Generate an individual community plan outline to address changes

  • Outline a communications plan to keep key stakeholders informed (e.g., site operators, internal staff, council)

Workshop Overview

  • Facilitator led walk-through of a 5-step planning process
  • Individual exercises, group discussion and polls

Workshop Details

Each course delivery is 4.5 hours in total, and delivered in three, 90-minute segments. You must attend all three segments to complete the course.

  • Exclusive for municipal and First Nation staff
  • Each workshop is limited to 25 participants
  • 2 separate workshops are scheduled: one for curbside programs and one for depot programs
  • Additional workshops may be offered, based on demand

Carrie brings insights from her Non-Eligible source discussions with key stakeholders including municipalities, collection service providers and Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs).

 

Jessica Landry
Continuous Improvement Fund
Project Manager

Jessica walks participants through a series of decision trees designed to help determine which sources will be part of the ongoing blue box program and which will only be eligible to be serviced until the end of transition. Additionally, Jessica will share learnings from data collection research.
