Emergency Airway Skills Management (EAM) | Port Hedland |
20 October 2023This Rural Health West CPD workshop is designed to assist health professionals to develop and practise skills essential in unexpected crises, particularly with problem airways. Delivered in WA Country Health Service facilities, this workshop has a heavy emphasis on teamwork and the organisation of medical emergency teams incorporating presentations, skill stations and scenario-based crises with simulation manikins (SimMan and baby). Eligibility: GP anaesthetists and theatre staff. Priority is given to those working in the local region. Should places be available, emergency department doctors and nurses are invited to register. Australia.

Reporting to the Associate Professor in Rural Health, you will assist in the development, supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate entry students in nursing and in interprofessional practice opportunities. You will also coordinate, liaise and develop the nursing placement programs in collaboration with key stakeholders in the Pilbara.
You will liaise with relevant universities, apply professional standards of practice at the level relevant for students supervised and contribute to the evaluation of the student placement program and the impacts on students' work readiness, rural practice understanding and attraction to future rural health positions. SCRP - Project Officer (Aboriginal Health & Workforce Development)The WA Centre for Rural Health - Pilbara (WACRH) of The University of Western Australia is seeking a fulltime Project Officer (Aboriginal Health and Workforce Development) based in
Karratha. Job no: 510133. As the appointee you will, under limited direction, liaise with Pilbara communities, workforce agencies, education providers, stakeholders and service partners to participate and collaborate in WACRH projects throughout WACRH’s Pilbara footprint. You will provide support to WACRH to develop Aboriginal Health Education programs to support Pilbara Communities, contribute to analysis and report on health workforce data and support in the development of strategies to recruit and retain a local health workforce. Gateway Paint & Sip | 14 September 2023 | 6.30pm-8.30pm | South HedlandPaint and Sip is a fun evening of combining creativity with socialising. You will be guided by a passionate, local artist as you paint your own unique painting. This event is for people aged over 18 to come and enjoy a night with friends, family or colleagues.
