Global Forests, Land Use, and Carbon Markets: Prof. Thuy Pham’s International Impact From leading global discussions on sustainable forestry to shaping the future of land use science, Professor Thuy Pham continues to make a significant mark on the world stage. In recent months, her work has brought together policymakers, researchers, and international partners to tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges — from advancing Payment for Ecosystem Services to shaping global sustainability research agendas and supporting equitable forest carbon markets. CSI/Flinders Law Grant success A multidisciplinary team from CSI and Flinders Law have been successful in securing a grant ($164,550.00 inc GST) from the Australian Radioactive Waste Authority to prepare a report to assist its understanding of the concept of intergenerational equity in relation to the establishment of a radioactive waste depository. The team (Brendan Grigg, Svetlana Bogomolova, Sandra Guo, Naser Pourazad, Tahna Pettman, Laura Lesar and Judi Storer) will employ a mixed-method methodology that will combine legal expertise and legal research skills with sustainable development, community attitudes, stakeholder engagement, social marketing and social licence, social impact, and public opinion and media analysis research expertise. Free Vision Checks Flinders University staff can book for quick and free vision check as part of the Work Health & Safety Units health and wellbeing program. Basic vision screenings are conducted by Flinders optometry students and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to test general vision function. Reports will be provided for you to take to your local optometrist or to Flinders Health2Go if further testing is required.
