Click here Public transport is getting even cheaper in the Horizons Region!A new fare structure is coming to Connect services from 1 January 2024. Instead of different prices for each service, there will be a zone structure.Instead of different prices for each service, the price will be based on how far people travel. A trip within a single zone will cost the same no matter where you live, with the price then increasing at a consistent rate as you travel through zones. The fare capping aspect of the new fare structure means people paying with a registered Bee Card will get free buses after taking a certain number of trips in a zone each week. Check out the zone map!How to make the most of itYou must use a registered Bee Card for your trips if you wish to take advantage of fare capping, as this ensures we have a reliable way to log trips each week. To make this easy, Bee Cards are available for free until the end of February 2024 on Connect services and from Horizons Regional Council offices in Whanganui (181 Guyton Avenue) and Palmerston North (15 Victoria Avenue).
