Good afternoon,

The US Department of Commerce and Census Bureau released the monthly import/export data this morning, reporting 3,709,174 barrels for the month of August 2022, up 2.8% compared to August 2021. Year-to-date imported beer shipments total 27,588,764 through August, which is an increase of 3.8% compared to the same months in 2021. 

Growth drivers for August included imports from Mexico (+5.4%), Netherlands (+8.2%), and Ireland (+59.7%).  These three countries are also growth drivers for YTD trends. 

Mexican imports continue to drive the bulk of growth within the imported beer segment, and account for 79% of total imported beer volume YTD, and 80% of total imported beer volume for August 2022.
