Clinical Research Tip of the Month

Standardized Justification Documents for Budget Negotiations

Did you know MCW provides standardized clinical trial fee justification documents to streamline budget negotiations with industry sponsors? These documents, found on the OnCore Financials Budget webpage (OnCore Financials Budget), offer official MCW pricing language for key study start-up costs, including IRB fees, F&A, OnCore, Florence eReg, and more.

Using the current justification documents helps ensure consistency and reduces back-and-forth with sponsors, who are more likely to accept administrative costs when presented with standardized institutional language. These documents also save time for study teams by providing ready-to-use, institutionally approved language, helping avoid delays that can occur when starting from scratch or using outdated justifications.

Tip: Download a fresh copy for each use to ensure you’re working with the most up-to-date version.

Questions? Contact the OnCore Financials team for guidance or additional support.
