Upcoming Reporting Deadline for Foreign and Alien Insurers 

All foreign insurers should report policies effective in 1Q2026 (January 1, 2026, through March 31, 2026) by June 30, 2026. The June 30 filing deadline for foreign insurers is for policies written in Alabama, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming. 

All alien insurers should report policies effective in 2025 (January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025) by June 30, 2026. The June 30 filing deadline for alien insurers is for policies written in Colorado, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming.

 Independently Procured Coverage Policies 

Independently Procured Coverage (IPC), or direct procurement policies, are reported in SLIP+ for most states. Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming all require IPC filings to be reported in SLIP+. Alabama and Louisiana do not require IPC policies to be reported in SLIP+.   

IPC policies written in the states referenced above should be reported in SLIP+ by the insured and the non-admitted carrier.  

Welcome Louisiana to SLIP+ for States

SLIP+ for States is pleased to welcome the State of Louisiana to our platform. Agents will begin reporting policies on July 1, 2026. The first anticipated foreign insurer reporting deadline for Louisiana will be December 31, 2026.  

Agents and insurers should only report policies effective July 1, 2026 and after in SLIP+ for States. Any policies – or endorsements on policies – effective prior to July 1, 2026, will continue to be reported to LDI. Below are filing examples for agents and insurers: 

  1. New policy effective 7/1/2026 -- File in SLIP+ for States 
  2. Renewal policy effective 7/15/2026 -- File in SLIP+ for States 
  3. Renewal policy effective 6/1/2026 -- File with LDI 
  4. Endorsement effective 7/15/2026 on a policy effective 6/1/2026 -- File with LDI
