OCTOBER 2022

Investing in Arts and Culture for a Better Oregon

Hello OCF Friends and Family!

What a pleasure it is to return to Oregon and get reacquainted with this state that has given me so much and is now calling me home! I am eager to get to work, and I look forward to hearing from you — friends, neighbors, colleagues, leaders all around the state — about what inspires you to make a difference and invest in thriving communities.

I feel very fortunate in this moment to join hands with a 50-year tradition at OCF: working together to help this state and its people flourish. And I can think of no better way to seek inspiration than honoring arts and culture, which are central to the human experience and help us understand the world, ourselves and each other.

I hope the stories we’re sharing this month of remarkable artists and culture bearers lift you up and rekindle imagination, creativity and determination to enhance Oregon communities — socially, educationally, and economically.
