The Practical Guide to Health – 1913“The proverb, “A sound mind in a sound body,” represents to some degree the regard the ancient Greeks had for health, and also their conception of the relation that physical well-being sustains to mental vigor. To-day life has become so changed that the great tendency is to make the physical, mental, and moral health subordinate to the acquisition of wealth, and social and political position. As a consequence, the preservation of the health has become a secondary consideration.” This extract is directly from The Practical Guide to Health, written in 1913, even then they had identified the effects their lifestyles were having on their health. If you would like to read more from the wisdom of 1913, you can find a link to a digital copy through Coffs Collections here.
