No images? Click here Your first Law School Bulletin 2023Welcome to the Law School! Congratulations to each of you for securing your place to study with us as we celebrate 100 years of Exeter Law! You are joining our diverse community of academics, professional services colleagues, students and alumni at a pivotal point in the Law School’s history and we hope that you will be part of our celebrations over the coming months. I am sure that you are filled with a mixture of emotions as you embark on your first few days at University and I hope that you are settling into your new life here. You are now beginning the next phase of your academic life and it is important to recognise that your Law degree is a rigorous and challenging course – but, it is also a lot of fun! You are here because you are intelligent, bright and resilient – you have earned your place at one of the UK’s top Law schools, so make the most of every moment. As you begin your studies, I encourage you to be curious and intellectually disruptive; be kind to one another and aim high. I look forward to meeting you all. Clair Welcome Week Induction Your first week is an exciting and information packed few days. To help your induction week run smoothly there are some key things you need to do before you arrive. (Full details were in the email sent from the University's Student Information Team. You can also go on this link to see the tasks.) Then once you're on campus there are Timetabled induction sessions some of which are for all students and others which are Law specific. The table below lists all of the sessions running in Welcome Week for Law students. (Repeat sessions are included for your information but please only attend YOUR timetabled sessions.) You can access your timetable via the New Student Guide: https://www.exeter.ac.uk/students/newstudentsguide/ or via the iExeter App.Welcome Week EventThrough term time we organise informal events for different year groups, which give you the chance to mix with other students and academic staff in a break away from your studies. One to bookmark further ahead is our Film Night showing of '12 Angry Men'. We'll let you know the details via our Instagram page and on email. In the meantime let's get to know each other over a slice of pizza and some games. Join in with our Law School Mixer on Tuesday 19 September. Details below. Our Centenary!It's wonderful that you are joining us in our Centenary year. You can find out about our history, our events and our alumni via our Law100 webpages. Opportunities and EventsThrough term time there will be a variety of employability and career development events which we will share in this monthly newsletter. Your Wellbeing: Getting Advice and SupportMoving to Uni involves a lot of change in your life, so from the moment you arrive we want to ensure you have the best support.
