What's On in the Arts in Central Otago - December

Hullabaloo Art Space 'Oval' Hullaballoo Art Space will open their summer group exhibition 'Oval' on Sunday the 10th December from 4pm. The show features works on an oval substrate created by
arts collective members Andi Regan, Gail de Jong, Robert Franklin, Eric Schusser, Sue Rutherford, Carmen Burgi, Lizzie Carruthers, Debbie Neill, Ro Bradshaw, Tracey Morrow, Jennifer Hay, Josh Olley, Lorraine Higgins and Jen Olson. Their famous Christmas raffle is promised again where everyone through the door on the night will receive a ticket to go into the draw to win a selection of original art works. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in on this festive celebration. Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery Artisan Food and Wine Christmas Market Central Stories will showcase local food and wine artisans with a Christmas market this weekend, Saturday 9th December. This is a perfect opportunity to get organised for Christmas Day and sample and purchase some beautiful Central Otago products as well as those from further afield. Wines from Como Villa, Pick & Shovel, Thyme Hill, Judge Rock and Omeo will be available to purchase and Roxburgh's Up a Tree Distillery will showcase their marvellous range of gin, fruit liqueurs, fruit brandy, schnapps, and ciders. Alexandra's Station Brewery will have their fantastic selection of craft beer on offer also. Foodies will be will not be disappointed with a great variety
of nuts, olive oil, imported cheeses from France & Italy, salami, peanut brittle, Christmas cake, mince pies, sauces, chutneys, Christmas baked goods, jam, honey, olives and so much more. Central Stories will be transformed into Santa's Grotto and the man himself will be make an appearance from 10am- 1pm. There will be a Christmas hunt in the museum so children will be well entertained! Workshops and talks will start from 10.30 and include lessons on how to create a floral display, building a Christmas platter, and talks about growing produce and winemaking in Central Otago. 'On the Side' an exhibition of prints by Helen Darling and Amanda Griffin will be on show in the Heaphy
Gallery so a spot of shopping for art could be on the cards too! The Central Otago Arts Trail Summer is a perfect time to explore the Central Otago Arts Trail. We encourage you to take time to personally meet our talented artists in their studios and visit the galleries we have listed. We are in the process of revising the Central Otago Arts Trail brochure but in the meantime
