From the MayorAs we celebrate Local Government Week, I’d like to share with you the amazing work of Council staff to make Ku-ring-gai the best place to live.
Council looks after 375 hectares of bushland, 30km of walking trails, 207 parks, playgrounds and sportsfields, 67 tennis courts, 22 community centres, 4 library branches, 2 golf courses, 2 mountain bike tracks, 2 youth hubs, a child care centre, family day care and vacation care, seniors programs, an art centre, the Showground, the Wildflower Garden, 484km of roads and a big calendar of events. I encourage all animal lovers to pop by Bunnings Pymble tomorrow for our cat information and adoption day. Council staff and the Ku-ring-gai Animal Pound will bring a number of cats looking for their
fur-ever home. It’s on from 9am to 3pm Saturday. Thanks to everyone who has attended a consultation session on the rate increase options for funding better infrastructure. There’s still plenty of time to have your say, with consultation continuing until 31 August. For more information visit our website. While you’re there, take a look at the new concept designs for the new amenities at club
facilities at Bannockburn Oval in Pymble. The current facilities, built many decades ago, will be redeveloped into a modern, accessible and inclusive space for all to enjoy. It’s another example of our ongoing investment in high-quality sporting facilities in Ku-ring-gai. Have a great weekend! Mayor Christine Kay
