April 24, 2026 Part 1: Premium Reconciliation Programs in Florida Demonstrate Two Decades of SuccessThe Florida Surplus Lines Service Office is releasing a five-part white paper series highlighting the success of its Premium Reconciliation program and the value it brings to surplus lines markets across multiple states. Part 1 introduces the Premium Reconciliation process and highlights Florida’s experience since 2000. Premium Reconciliation is enabled through the SLIP+ filing platform, which supports surplus lines reporting and data verification. Over the past two decades, Florida’s program has identified more than $2.7 billion in unreported premium and recovered more than $108 million in associated taxes and assessments. Long-term findings show that approximately 1.5% of surplus lines premium goes unreported without reconciliation, underscoring the importance of independent verification while also reflecting the strong overall compliance of brokers and carriers across the market. Read Part 1 of the series to learn more about how Premium Reconciliation works and what it reveals about surplus lines reporting.
