SAAB Gender Commission publishes recommendations

 

The SAAB Gender Commission, has published its report and recommendations. Chaired by Natalie Buxton (SAAB Group Board and EEQ), the Commission makes 12 recommendations for employers, government and 'key influencers', to help tackle a lack of gender diversity in the workforce.

Breaking down barriers in apprenticeships

SAAB member organisation and charity, Action for Children, recently featured in the Scotsman with its Director, Paul Carberry, discussing SAAB Employer Equalities Group's (EEQ) recent work to help people with care experience.

SAAB EEQ member, Tony Scally, Chairs the short life working group on care experience. The group aims to develop and implement a plan to address issues affecting young people with care experience, specifically in accessing opportunities to work-based learning.

The SAAB Apprentice Engagement Group (AEG) is recruiting new, enthusiastic people to add to its membership. Members can be Foundation, Modern or Graduate Apprentices who are willing to provide  the ‘apprentice voice’ on a variety of issues.  This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop skills, influence policy and build professional networks.

The national campaign showcases job opportunities across Scotland's industries for people thinking about their career and education choices. Employers can sign up for events focused on delivering meaningful work placements and mentoring young people and recruiting veterans.   • Skills Development Scotland recently issued a statement on apprenticeship funding for 2022-23. Read the full statement via the SDS website.
