Accessibility WorkshopAugust 21st from 10-11:30 AM
The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Ave.Jennifer Sabo, Executive Director of Arts4All Florida, will present information on appropriate practices to help organizations develop accessibility policies and programs. Attendees will learn simple ways to improve accessibility for events and programs. TDC grantees and applicants are strongly encouraged to attend, and all are welcome to participate in this free

SOTA Grants Open September 1These grants, presented annually, are available through funds raised by the sale of “State of the Arts” specialty license plates and have provided more than $150,000 of support to arts organizations and individual artists in St. Johns County since 2011. In 2024,

From Novel to Movie: The Yearling in Florida This documentary shares behind-the-scenes footage and oral histories from actors and stand-ins featured in the classic coming-of-age story about a rural Florida family. Join us at The Waterworks on Friday, August 23rd at 7 PM to enjoy performances by musicians who
created the soundtrack and a Q&A with the producers. This event is free but donations to the Friends of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Farm are encouraged. Click here for more information.
Aviles Street Festival In honor of the 100th anniversary of the St. Augustine delegation's visit to Aviles, Spain, the St. Johns Cultural Council, the City of St. Augustine, the St. Augustine Art Association, and the merchants and museums of Aviles Street collaborate to present the Aviles Street Festival on Sunday, September 8th from 12-9 PM. Enjoy rich cultural offerings like
lively music and dance, food, art, and more at this free, family-friendly event. More details to come.
FUNDING & ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES
CALL FOR ARTISTS: Aviles Street Festival Plein Air Paint OutThe St. Augustine Art Association and the St. Johns Cultural Council will host a one-day Plein Air Paint Out during the Aviles Street Festival on Sunday, September 8th from 12-9 PM. Up to 15 artists will be selected to paint on and around Aviles Street — the oldest platted street in the United States — and various neighboring courtyards. Participating artists and the work they create during the event will be featured in an exhibition in the Rotunda Gallery of the St. Johns County Administration Building from September 24, 2024 – October 31, 2024. Apply online by Sunday, August 25th.
Wassaic Project Summer ExhibitionArtists working in all mediums, including 2D work, sculpture, video, new media, site-specific
installation, performance, text, poems, essays, publication-specific work, etc. are invited to submit proposals to show their work in and around historic Wassaic and Maxon Mills, New York. The application fee is $25 and your application may include multiple proposals. Apply by September 20th.
Art Ventures GrantsThe Community Foundation for Northeast Florida is accepting applications from small and mid-size arts and cultural organizations for grants of $10,000 to support capacity-building and program development. Additional funding is available through the Delores Barr Weaver Black Arts Organizations Fund for Black-led/Black-centered organizations that have more than 50% of Black staff in leadership positions, more than 50% of board members identify as Black, and/or the mission statement/programs aim to serve predominantly Black communities. On August 28th at 10:30 AM, the Community Foundation will host a grant application assistance webinar. Applications are due by September 23rd. Click here to learn more and register for the webinar.
Alterwork ResidencyThis residency in Long Island, New York allows emerging contemporary artists time and space to create new work exploring their practice. The residency culminates in a solo closing reception promoted across an extensive network.
Proposals should have a contemporary art focus showing experimentation and career reach for the artist. The program is especially interested in projects that involve conceptual art, practice, or theory or involve the public in their creative process. Apply by September 30th.
