From the Principal
It is with great pride that we celebrate being part of the Newman College community. We strive to animate our delivery of learning, teaching and wellbeing, as one which is innovative and creative, underpinned by contemporary and relevant pedagogy. Our Vision for Learning Shine through Discovery – Let your light shine (Matthew 5:16) inspires our faith and learning community to Challenge, Collaborate, Create and Celebrate who we are and what we seek to achieve.
We look back and reflect on a very successful term in the life of this College. The many programs and opportunities for students during Term 1 have fuelled their desire to excel. We are ready to take the challenge and push towards even higher expectation as we commence Term 2.
God Bless,
Dr Lucie McCrory
Acting Principal

New Principal - Andrew Watson
This is my 35th year in Catholic schools and I am passionate about education that supports the full formation of our wonderful young people.
It’s exciting to be returning to Newman College after many years away and to see how we have grown and developed as a Catholic school in the Marist tradition.
The energy, commitment and care shown by students, staff and families to one another is already evident to me in just this short time of being here.

PK-12 Family Mass
It was wonderful to be able to gather again as a whole community for the first time in three years to celebrate our PK-12 Family Mass this year.
It was a beautiful occasion, and we were so glad to be able to welcome so many students, families, and staff to our celebration.

Guild Swimming Carnivals
The Swimming Carnival showcases the talents of many students, there is fierce competition and much enjoyment and novelty.
This year eight records were broken, and many special moments occurred on the day.

Principal's Assembly
At the Principal’s Assembly and Campus Assemblies in Marian and Lavalla, we acknowledged significant sporting and service achievements and contributions across the College.
Students who demonstrated the Marist characteristics during the term were also recognised.

PK-2 Father Project
The Fathering Project recognises that fathers, and father figures, play a vital role in the lives of children.
This term the first event took place at the Marian campus, which was a Paper Planes and Pizza activity. It was a wonderful and uplifting occasion which was enjoyed equally by the students and their fathers.

Graeme Wood First XI Cricket Shield
It is with great delight that we congratulate our Marist Cricket Team who won the Graeme Wood First XI Shield this week.
Their teamwork and encouragement of each other was strong, they were worthy winners of this significant shield

Easter Liturgies
With the conclusion of our term, we saw all three campuses celebrating the Easter season of new life.
Staff and students came together to participate in liturgical celebrations. It was a fitting way to close a rather large term.
