All-Student Graduate Orientation for doctoral and MFA students is Tuesday, August 27 and Wednesday August 29, ending with a Resource Fair on Thursday, August 29. International Student Orientation is August 21-23, 2024. Non-degree students should feel free to attend either PhD or master's sessions, whichever they feel is more relevant.

Meet new people in and out of your degree program, learn about Brown's academic culture and expectations and get practical information about Graduate School and University resources. 

• Participation in All-Student Orientation is mandatory for all graduate students. 
• Participation in International Student Orientation is mandatory for all international graduate students. 

All incoming graduate students will have the option to attend sessions:

• in person
• via livestream (Zoom) or 
• by watching a recording of the sessions (available within 48 hours of the event)

Registration is required for All-Student and International Student Orientation. Please complete the Registration Form by July 26, 2024.

Full schedules will be available by the end of July and can be found on the Graduate School website, and in the BrownU App (by mid-August).

Registration for social/community building events (from August 21- Sept. 1) will be available on the Brown Events Calendar by early August.

In addition to All-Student and International Student Orientation, graduate students should plan to attend departmental orientation activities to receive academic advising, meet their cohort, and learn important information about program requirements.
