Thriving@Flinders: Spotlight

Name: Emily Edmonds

Role: Recruitment Advisor

How long have you been at Flinders?
I have been at Flinders for 3 years.

What supports your wellbeing at Flinders?
I recently completed postgraduate studies in Human Resource Management. I feel very fortunate to work at Flinders, which offers generous study leave entitlements. Balancing full-time work with full-time study was not always easy, but having access to this support helped me manage my workload, maintain balance, reduce stress and overall, support my wellbeing.

How do you keep yourself thriving?
Spending time outdoors and staying active is really important to me. On campus, you will often see me walking laps around the lake in my lunch break and outside of work I enjoy running and hiking. I also prioritise a balanced and colourful diet, and meal-prepping my lunches each week helps me stay consistent.

What’s your wellbeing tip for others?
I have recently swapped my phone alarm for an analogue alarm, which has helped me reduce my screen time and start the day offline.
