What's On July 2013

Sorry I’m a bit late with my newsletter this month. My days seem to be flying by but at least I can happily say they are getting longer and
a bit warmer. We have been busy spreading the word to artists about the Arts Gold Awards. Entries are now open but don’t linger as they must be in by the 20th September. Have a look at the Arts Gold Awards web page for more information.
Last night I was at Central Stories in Alexandra for the opening of Grahame Sydney’s photographic exhibition entitled Winter Images. The photos are mostly of our glorious Central Otago seen through his eyes and I must say it is a stunning display. Grahame is presenting a floor talk at the gallery, 1pm on Sunday the 11th August. This event is free and everyone is welcome.
Hullabaloo artists are celebrating mid-winter in their usual flamboyant way on Saturday the 13th July from 5.30pm with some winter cheer- drinks and nibbles. Here, you have a chance to preview their group exhibition which will run for three weeks. Coming up, Fine Thyme Theatre Company are presenting Death & Taxe$
by April Phillips. It's a crime story, a ghost story, and a hilarious comedy. Featuring dodgy deals, a potty psychic, a fish tax inspector, a nutty cop, murder, mayhem and a hairy yak! It sounds very ‘Fine Thyme’ indeed, as the company is well known for its great productions.
Check out below everything that is happening and try to get along to support these events. Take care and stay warm!
