Great recognition for our alternative plan for housing growth in Ku-ring-gai with a high commendation from the Planning Institute of Australia this week. We were the only council nationwide to be recognised for our planning skills. Our after hours space at Gordon Library is becoming very popular! If you’re a student or someone who needs a place to do some work after normal library hours, then book in at Library After Hours Ku-ring-gai Another initiative that’s proving very popular is the Earn & Return baskets at selected locations in Ku-ring-gai. This is a trial whereby residents can leave recyclable bottles and cans for others to collect for cash. Find out more. This week we’ve been busy celebrating the hundreds of volunteers serving our community. As part of National Volunteer Week we hosted movie days for local volunteers and lit up the Council Chambers in orange to thank our SES volunteers on Wear Orange Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who volunteers in our community and makes Ku-ring-gai such a great place to live.
