Live Well Arizona Incubator Unveils 2024 CohortRelaunching the groundbreaking initiative to elevate community health and well-beingWe are pleased to announce the Live Well Arizona Incubator’s 2024 cohort, five dynamic teams across the state dedicated to improving community health and well-being. The Live Well Arizona Incubator identifies and empowers teams initiating sustainable, multi-sector collaborations that address Social Determinants of Health within their communities. The 2024 cohort comprises projects tackling various place-based health issues, from affordable housing to natural resource protection. As a capacity-building program, the Live Well Arizona Incubator will support these teams as they further develop their innovative plans to meet community needs. Meet the 2024 Cohort: City of CottonwoodThe City of Cottonwood aims to tackle the lack of affordable and workforce housing in the Verde Valley by coordinating partners around an ambitious housing project. The team will work to create a coordinated plan for stakeholders to bring this housing project to life. Flagstaff Family Food CenterFlagstaff and Coconino County have a food insecurity rate above the national average. The Flagstaff Family Food Center plans to create a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns anti-hunger policy, community health and wellness, and food justice to address the root causes of hunger. Glendale Elementary School DistrictThe Glendale Elementary School District’s System of Care Center offers comprehensive human services to youth and families through interagency collaboration. The System of Care Center is seeking additional partnerships to enhance and sustain the services it provides. Protectors of the Salt River (Oñ auk mor ha Ñu: kuth om)The Rio Salado is a vital natural and cultural resource in the community. The Protectors of the Salt River plan to implement education and awareness programs, scale sustainable restoration efforts, and honor the river’s cultural significance through storytelling. Southern Gila County Economic Development CorporationThe Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation will establish new health programs in local schools and the wider community and create a Youth Advisory Council to address the physical, mental, and emotional wellness of the Globe-Miami community. The Live Well Arizona Incubator empowers teams to take the lead in their projects, providing resources and support. Each team will receive a $1,250 stipend and 12 months of coaching to help grow their capacity. Cohort members will also participate in workshops, learning alongside and from their peers. The program will formally launch in January 2024. "These teams embody the spirit of innovation and collaboration necessary to overcome the health challenges facing communities throughout the state," said Terry Benelli, Executive Director of LISC Phoenix, managing partner of the Arizona Partnership for Healthy Communities. "We're thrilled to help these teams create lasting, positive change as they bring their projects to life." The Live Well Arizona Incubator is an initiative of the Arizona Partnership for Healthy Community, a statewide, multi-sector collaborative with the vision that all of Arizona’s communities be healthy places to live.
