What's On August 2014

Well what is happening in August? Perhaps some early Spring blossoms but then again, it could still be a late winter. Either way, I love that
the days are getting longer and that the pussy willow is budding. There are plenty of opportunities this month to delve into your creative side and try something completely different. Personal growth and many benefits come from participating in an art workshop - like meeting new people, stepping out of your comfort zone and challenging your senses – as well as the immense satisfaction of creating something for yourself. Winter can be a bit dreary I know and one way of cheering yourself up is to make time just for you. See below for information on all the wonderful art sessions in store. I encourage you to take advantage of what is on
offer - go ahead and book yourself into one. If workshops aren’t your thing, then there are plenty of other activities that just might appeal, so have a good look at this month's events. One more thing - on behalf of the Central Otago District Arts Trustees I would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting which will be held at 5.30pm in Meeting Room A in the Alexandra Community
House on Thursday 7th August. We have a really interesting evening planned with our very special guest, the CEO of Creative New Zealand, Stephen Wainwright, who is coming down from Wellington to speak. We would love you to join us for a drink, some nibbles, and a chat about the arts.
