What's On in the Arts in Central Otago - March

Autumn is the best time to be outdoors, enjoying some of what is on in our beautiful Central Otago region. Agency 45,
Victory Band NZ, Space at the Base and Turtle Funk have teamed up to bring a relaxing evening of local music, food and beverage to Cromwell in late March. Once Upon a Hill will be held at Scott Base Vineyard and will feature local musicians including GINA, Victory Band NZ and Turtle Funk. Expect an eclectic mix of jazz, funk and a little bit of rock while enjoying some of the best views in Central Otago. Click HERE to get tickets for this family-friendly event. Coming to Bannockburn in March are New Zealand blues and R&B guitarist, harmonica player and singer Midge Marsden and guitarist, singer and entertainer Chet O’Connell. Everyone is invited to bring a chair, a blanket and something to eat and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Desert Heart Estate listening to these renowned musicians. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from Desert Heart Estate or online by clicking HERE. The opening of what is deemed to be one of the largest art shows in Queenstown happens tomorrow at Queenstown Contemporary in the Five Mile Centre. Artist and art supporter Marc Blake and other members of our creative community have teamed up to curate a snapshot of the local art scene at the start of a new decade. Queenstown Art Now will feature over 70 works by Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago artists. Everyone is invited to attend the opening, support art and culture and celebrate the value of art and creative opportunity in the community.
