On January 26th, Hockey Calgary teamed up with the Calgary Wranglers to host Officials Day at the Dome, presented by FYidoctors.
Attendees enjoyed a complimentary meal, received tickets to the thrilling Calgary Wranglers vs. San Diego Gulls game, and had the opportunity to hear from NHL Officiating Manager Pierre Racicot.

The Hockey Calgary Outstanding Service Award acknowledges an individual who demonstrates outstanding contribution to minor hockey in Calgary. They exhibit dedication and service well beyond what is expected from a volunteer.
This scholarship is awarded annually in memory of Ian Anderson to promote the development of young officials within our community. The winning candidate is a person who makes outstanding contributions to officiating in minor hockey in Calgary.
Coach of the Year is awarded to an individual who demonstrates outstanding contribution to their hockey association, team, and players. An individual who exhibits dedication and service well beyond the normal expectation of a coach. This individual follows Fair Play Codes, emphasizes skills development and the fundamentals of the game.
The Hockey Calgary Member Association of the Year award is presented annually to a Hockey Calgary member association that makes outstanding contributions to the minor hockey community in Calgary.
On January 10th, the Raiders U15 NBC 3 team visited Kids Cancer Care, an initiative dedicated to providing year-round programs for children, teens, and their families, all aimed at empowering individuals to navigate their cancer journeys with strength. During their visit, the team opened approximately 15 bins of mail over two hours, saving Kids Cancer Care around $2000 in administrative time. This allowed the organization to redirect their efforts toward the exceptional work they do in supporting children and families affected by cancer.
The U15 AA Royals came together as a team to give back to their community by unpacking, sorting, cleaning, and organizing donated sports equipment at the Calgary Flames Sports Bank.
To "Celebrate Things Done Well," we are excited to announce that one coach per month during the 2024/25 season will be selected to receive a special congratulatory gift from Original 16. Additionally, they will be invited to join us at the Scotiabank Saddledome on April 20th for the highly anticipated Wranglers vs Barracuda's Fan Appreciation Night and have the exclusive opportunity to partake in an exciting behind-the-scenes experience with the Wranglers that includes observing a Wrangler's practice from the bench and a special appearance from a Wranglers Coach.

Nominations for the Official of the Month award are open throughout the entire season and one winner will be selected each month.
