Every 33 minutes someone's life is turned upside down by epilepsy. No images? Click here Hi Friend, Welcome to this edition of Brainwaves. Next week is already March which is Epilepsy Awareness Month. There is a national campaign about to be launched and a number of Tasmanian initiatives, including our new fundraising platform here. We are still ironing out a few creases on this new site, so please call if you're having any trouble. Read more below about how you can be involved. March is predominantly about having conversations around all things epilepsy and I encourage you to think about how you might be involved at your work, home, school, sports club and social media. If you have epilepsy, or are supporting someone with epilepsy - we have a very special invitation for you - see below how to attend our Government House Reception. We are on the lookout for new office space in the Launceston CBD. We need approximately 150m2 so if you know of anywhere please contact us. As always, be in touch if you have any thoughts or need additional information. Wendy Groot, CEO Epilepsy Tasmania. Every 33 minutes, someone's life is turned upside down by epilepsy.Does that figure surprise you? Most Australians don't realise how common epilepsy is, or how dramatically it can change lives. This March, we are determined to ensure Tasmanians know the facts about epilepsy and we ask for your support doing this and raising money to continue our charitable work. Having seizures turns lives upside down - work, independence, study, health and friendships are all affected in some way. Friend - please take a moment to consider...
We need people like you to arrange small fundraising events at work, school or with friends. Collect some donations, sell some of our purple merchandise, chat about epilepsy (and other things too!), take some photos, have a great time - then let us know how it went. It's that easy and every little bit helps us.
