Thank you to all of those who joined us for FLOW (Free Lunch on Wednesdays) as we served lunch to the international student body at DBU! We also had a sweet time of fellowship at the Yellow Ribbon Luncheon as we celebrated Dr. and Mrs. Wright's 6th year as President and First Lady at DBU! We are grateful for their leadership and looking forward to the days ahead! We are so very grateful for the impact you are making in the lives of DBU students because of your continued generosity. It was a joy to see the tangible impact that our Women’s Auxiliary Board members have as they interacted with DBU students whom they pray for, serve with and give graciously to as they pursue their education! Thank you for your faithful support and friendship. Keep scrolling to see highlights from this past month, as well as dates and details for upcoming events this fall with DBU! This year we want each of you to consider how you can pray, serve, and give supporting DBU through the Women's Auxiliary Board. Here are some practical ways to become involved this fall: DBU All-University Prayer Requests DBU Basketball Mission Trip to Spain, Update from Connor Smith, Director of Athletics: “Yesterday started with more ministry with different age groups at Alfa y Omega. Then we made our way to Alicante, Spain, a beautiful drive up the southeast coast of Spain. There we played our first competitive exhibition game of the week against Lucentum Alicante Basketball Club, a semi-professional basketball team. A full team effort on both ends of the floor produced a victory for the Patriots and a final score of 85-62. It has been special to see the impact the guys are having here at Alfa y Omega, but even more special to see the impact this trip is having on some of the guys.” Baptist Student Ministry, From Eric Bean, Director of BSM: "Our students are handing out snacks at Oregon State University, conducting spiritual surveys, and setting up gospel appointments with students. They are serving alongside OSU leaders of Northwest Collegiate Ministries. We have visited five different small groups on campus. I am proud of how well they are doing. Please pray for boldness and for divine appointments with students. We hope to share the gospel and connect OSU students to NCM before we return.” DBU Homecoming, November 14-19: Pray for our new Alumni Director, Matt Duce, as he leads the planning for this full week of activities. Pray for great weather for the entire weekend as many of our events are outside. Pray for safety as the DBU Family travels to University Hill. Pray that everyone on University Hill will make meaningful connections with their classmates and friends. Academics: In October, academic demands increase for students as more tests, papers, and projects are due. Some students are facing consequences of poor study habits from earlier in the semester. Pray that students will manage their time maturely and will have the drive to do their best. Pray that struggling students will take steps to access the academic support DBU provides. PRAYER REQUESTS For the 2022-2023 year, the DBU Women's Auxiliary Board Staff, Chaplain Patty Lovvorn, and our Executive Committee are committing to pray for the needs of our members and their loved ones.
