Wheatbelt HPN addiction medicine Q&A with Associate Professor Mat Coleman - NARROGIN

Local GPs and health professionals are invited to join addiction psychiatrist, Associate Professor Mat Coleman at an interactive education session discussing regional issues around addiction.

Grants for training and upskilling - applications now open! 

The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) provides professional development support to health professionals in rural and remote Australia to help retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice.

You could be eligible for a grant if you meet the following criteria:

  • Working in the field of medicine, nursing, midwifery, dental, pharmacy or allied health (including Aboriginal health practitioners).
  • Providing primary care in private practice, non-government or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) sector - those employed solely by the state government are ineligible for funding.
  • Employed by an organisation providing services in an MMM 3-7 location (or ACCHS in a MMM 1-7 location).

Activities supported by the HWSP  

  • Postgraduate studies – postgraduate certificate, diploma, Masters or PhD
  • Conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars and short courses

Practice support

 

Practice Assist is a free service that coordinates and delivers end-to-end practice support services for not only general practice teams, but all health professionals across Western Australia.

The Practice Assist team can help enhance the efficiency, capacity and sustainability of your practice with a comprehensive suite of practice management resources and support services:

 
  • A toll-free help desk between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Email the helpful team for advice regarding practice management queries.
  • Assistance with Quality Improvement in your practice from Quality Improvement Coaches. 
  • Visit the dedicated wesbite for the latest news, information, resources, COVID-19 information and more.
    • Receive support and information about digital health technologies.
    • Educational webinars, networking events and regional workshops. 
    • Stay up to date by subscribing to Practice Connect, our fortnightly newsletter. 
    • Contact the Practice Assist team to connect with Primary Care Navigators and Quality Improvement Coaches.
