May 2025 Market Update

Following a difficult month of April, due to tariff induced panic, the S&P500 recovered nicely in May, surging 6.15%. This was the best performance for US stocks in the month of May since May 1990. Canadian stocks as measured by the S&P TSX rebounded nicely in May as well, rising 5.37% during the month. Equity markets in Europe and Asia were broadly positive as well, rising low single digits throughout the month.
