New school yearStarting back at school can be an anxious time for parents, carers and children. For families living with T1D it presents added challenges and considerations. Here's some handy tips for settling into the school year from our senior social worker Kirsty.
Triage phone serviceWe've been receiving an extremely high number of calls on our triage phone service. While we always do our best to help you, our priority for this service is to support families of children in need of urgent medical support related to their diabetes. To help families with other important information, we now have a FAQ section in Triage on the DiabHQ Patient Portal along with other useful resources. New Omnipod 5Would you or your child like to experience using the Omnipod 5 patch pump? We are looking for participants aged 2 – 24 years, who have been living with T1D for more than 12 months and are currently using either insulin injections or tubed insulin pump to manage their diabetes.
School management plansWith the school year underway, by now your child's school should have a copy of their updated Diabetes Management Plan. This is the time to touch base with the school and make sure they understand the plan and to answer any questions.
DiabHQ - We need you!Following the successful launch of the DiabHQ mobile app - co-designed with families like yours - we're moving into the exciting next phase, enhancing the patient portal to include even more support for families and looking at how we can offer a more personalised clinical service. To do this, we need your voice. We're forming a Consumer Reference Group (CRG) and we would love to hear from you.
