AMERICAN CATS: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE CUDDLY -- is a soon-to-be-released documentary movie about cats which features our own Dr. Susan and scenes shot here at the Ladew Cat Sanctuary.Correspondent, Amy Hoggart ("Full Frontal" with Samantha Bee) brings viewers along on her journey to uncover the truth about declawing, which can have devastating impacts on feline health. This soon to be released documentary movie features Paw Project founder, Dr. Jennifer Conrad, as well as our own Dr. Susan and scenes shot here at the Ladew Cat Sanctuary (your Ladewbie might even be in a few scenes!) Documentary filmmaker Todd Bieber's latest satirical expose is a not to be missed film for all cat lovers. American Cats: The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly is expected to have wide media coverage and you and your cat(s) can show your support and be a part of this very significant documentary. Filming has been completed and the project is now in post-production with a tentative release date set of summer 2024. The producers are planning to include open and closing credits (see link below for options) featuring the names of donors and their cats who support the film's anti-declawing message. Rosie and Daisy are showing their support and will have their names and picture at the end of the film. Former Ladewbie Daisy (left) has chosen CATering (because she never misses a meal) and her "sister" Rosie is down for Fur and Makeup. The opportunity to secure your place in the credits will only be available for a limited time so click on the button below to see the many titles that your kitty can earn without getting off the couch and help us end the practice of declawing cats! Giving thanks to Pat Ladew, her legacy, our supporters and adopters that continue to help us help homeless catsNearly 50 years ago, Pat Ladew opened up The Oyster Bay Cat House, now known as the Ladew Cat Sanctuary. In 1975 when most shelters were full of cages, Pat wanted The Oyster Bay Cat House to have a more home-like atmosphere, a trend that more and more shelters are now adopting. Annie Wilkinson of The Long Island Press penned an article in this month's edition that Pat herself would be proud of, titled Pat Ladew: The Cat Rescuer of Oyster Bay. While it is hard to sum up a person in one article, Annie managed to capture the essence of Pat and her love of animals. This Thanksgiving, we give thanks to Pat for paving the way to less-stressful times for cats that are looking for homes and to all of you who help us continue her mission to provide medical care, housing and adoption services to cats in need. We hope you all have a peaceful and thankful Thanksgiving. Meet Alice -- a tabby looking for a lap of her ownLap-loving Alice is looking for a home! This sweet girl was left in a carrier in front of one of our partner vet's offices. She was transferred to us in the hopes that we could find Alice a new home. Alice is healthy and has purrfect bloodwork! She loves laps and canned food. She eats only moist food and would prefer to be an only cat. To adopt or sponsor Alice, please visit her page by clicking the button below. The 2024 Ladew Cat Calendar features cats rescued by The Patricia H. Ladew Foundation. Each month highlights a cat whose life was at risk. For just $25.00, you can help us rescue more cats and provide medical care as required. The Patricia H. Ladew Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and 100% of your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law.
