ScandiAsian Design has been set in stone. Jacob Jensen Design had the privilege of opening a sister studio at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts (SIVA) in the Songjiang District in collaboration with DeTao Masters Academy, Shanghai.
CEO & Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen was invited as
a keynote speaker at the Danish Design event hosted by Boeing in Seattle. Boeing hosted the event to gain insight into Danish know-how, technology, innovation, research and products for future design solutions for Boeing’s aircrafts.
In other news, JACOB JENSEN™ launches a kitchen knife collection developed in close cooperation with Felix Solingen of Germany – renowned for excellent, high quality knives. The result is a sensuous kitchen implement, which gives the user the feeling of the perfect balance between control and efficiency.

Jacob Jensen Design at Burning Man, Nevada
Burning Man is an annual festival held in the Black Rock Desert, in northern Nevada and can be described as a social experiment in community, radical self-expression and radical self-reliance.
This foundation provides a space for creative expression incomparable to anything else on our planet. The studio views this event as one of the utmost forms of inspiration for it’s designers.
Creative Director, Nigel Hopwood and IT Manager, Michael Barnwell both participated in the festival this year, alongside visits to Apple Inc in California and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Release of JACOB JENSEN™ kitchen knife collection
JACOB JENSEN™ announces the launch of the kitchen knife collection developed in close cooperation with Felix Solingen of Germany – renowned for excellent, high quality knives. The result is a sensuous kitchen implement, which gives the user the feeling of the perfect balance between control and efficiency.
The Bread Knife (24 cm), Santoku Knife (18 cm) and Chef’s Knife (19 cm) will be in the shops in the autumn of 2012.

Jacob Jensen Design welcomes Jingjing Hu to the team
On 25th of September 2012, the studio administrator from our new Shanghai office, Jingjing Hu, visited the Headquarters in Denmark for a cultural insight of the studio. Her biggest takeaway, It’s great to see everyone finding so much joy and fun in their work, work is a part of our life so to enjoy our life we should enjoy our work.
Jingjing holds a Master of Literature in Publishing studies from the University of Sterling, Scotland. She will be working closely with Marijn Beije, Studio Creative Director and Dana Badeen, Studio Project Director at our Shanghai studio.

Jacob Jensen Design receives two German design awards 2012
The German Design Award is the German Design Council’s international premium prize. Founded in 1953, The German Design Council supports the business world in all aspects of design and is one of the world’s leading centres of
expertise in design.
During the month of September, Tommerup Kister’s Diamant 32 coffin and Tangent’s Fjord music system design by Jacob Jensen both received the prestigious award.
