This has now been corrected below. Your NZNO PHC MECA bargaining team met with the employer representatives yesterday (25 August) for bargaining in Wellington. The team advocated on the basis of your endorsed claims, including the wage claim of Health NZ (formerly DHB) parity for like-for-like roles. We have made progress on some of your claims and will continue to negotiate to improve your terms and conditions. Our day at bargaining hit a critical point when the employer representatives presented us with their position of a 2.78% wage increase. This percentage matches the same level of funding increase that employers received from the Ministry of Health. This position would maintain the current disparity between PHC MECA and Health NZ members by 5-11.7% We now need your voice in response Your bargaining team needs members to send them a strong mandate. Is a 2.78% wage increase good enough? To canvass your views, we’ve created a survey that will close at 12pm on 5 September. We are also canvassing what interest active members and delegates have in fronting any future campaign. Have your say by completing this quick Survey. PHC rallies on 29 August As you will be aware, five actions will be held on 29 August from 12:30-1:30pm to call on the Minister of Health to ensure that Te Whatu Ora Health NZ urgently provides the funding needed to properly value Aotearoa’s Primary Health Care nurses. Please do all you can to attend to show your support, and turn up if you can. This will be a powerful way of showing that unfairness for Primary Health Care nurses is an issue that all NZNO members care about seeing resolved. All events are from 12:30-1:30pm on Monday 29 August and meeting locations are:
