Alabama & Montana Go Live in SLIP+ January 1
Beginning January 1, 2026, all surplus lines filings for Alabama and Montana will be processed through SLIP+, the next generation filing platform designed to simplify reporting, payments, and data management.
As a surplus lines agent or agency filer, there are a few steps you can take now to prepare:
- Create your SLIP+ account early so you’re ready to file when Alabama and Montana go live. Note: While you can register your account now, you won’t be able to add your Alabama or Montana state licenses until January 1. ·
- Explore resources at slipplus.com, including platform tutorials, FAQs, and system updates to help you get familiar with the SLIP+ experience.
- Mark your calendar: We’ll host a SLIP+ Transition Webinar on Thursday, December 18. Registration details will follow soon.
Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible. We’ll continue sending updates and reminders leading up to the January 1 launch to support you every step of the way.

New Batch Documentation Available Tomorrow
Updated batch documentation for XML and CSV formats will be available in SLIP+ for States beginning tomorrow. These new formats reflect the changes required for Alabama and Montana filings, which go live on January 1, 2026.
To access the files once released:
- Log in to your SLIP+ account.
- Go to the Filings tab → Batch Upload.
- Download the “Upcoming” documentation packet for your preferred file format.
These updated formats will help you prepare and adjust your data collection processes for the new state transitions. After Alabama and Montana go live on January 1, 2026, you’ll be able to test your updated files using the Test Filing tab on the Batch Upload page.
