Naval Point – Te Nukutai o Tapoa Development Update
New play space now openA ‘sinking ship’, monkey bars and dingy are all features of a new play space at Naval Point. The Council worked with the Scouts to develop the plans. The play space is located next to the newly revamped Lyttelton Recreation Grounds, and has been created as part of the Council’s wider Naval Point Te Nukutai o Tapoa Redevelopment project. Much of the play space was made using reclaimed wood donated by Lyttelton Port Company. Other historic features include refurbished wharf bollards, marine piles, and a ship’s propeller.
