Since 2022, The Waterworks has served as a gathering place for the community. Built in 1898, the historic venue is home to music, theatre, poetry, and a variety of other artistic endeavors.

2nd Annual Local Artist Spotlight
Tuesday, November 4th at 1:30 PM

Artists whose works have been displayed at the Main Library discuss their inspiration and process with a Q&A.

 

Art-in-Science Show: Everything Galaxies!
Friday, November 7th at 4 PM

Enjoy the opening reception of creative works by school-age artists with the topic of how art can relate to galaxies! All works will be on display from November 7th to December 17th.

 

Henry's Life as a Tulip
Saturday, November 8th at 12 PM

World premiere of the animated short Henry's Life as a Tulip Bulb: Developing an Attitude of Gratitude.

 

Romanza Collage: Marc Dickman Jazz Quartet
Saturday, November 8th at 7:30 PM

The Quartet highlights the modern sounds of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. Tickets are available at RomanzaCollage.com.

 

Jordan Tice: Live from The Waterworks Concert Series
Saturday, November 22nd at 7 PM

The Gamble Rogers Folk Festival and The St. Johns Cultural Council present Nashville-based guitarist and vocalist Jordan Tice. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com.

 

Costumed Life Drawing at The Waterworks
Sunday, November 23rd at 10 AM

Artists Gail Beveridge and Mary Ann Rosenthal facilitate live drawing sessions with a clothed model. Tickets are $10 on Eventbrite.com.

 

Poetry Open Mic at The Waterworks
Sunday, November 23rd at 2:30 PM

ACP partners with Bards Against Hunger to collect canned goods and non-perishables for a local food bank for families in need this holiday season. Poets and poetry lovers are invited to celebrate creative writing and reciting with the local poetry community.

 
 

DECEMBER

Miracle on 34th Street - A Live Radio Play
Friday, December 5th & 12th at 7:30 PM
Saturday, December 6th & 13th at 4 PM
Sunday, December 7th & 14th at 2 PM

Bring the whole family to enjoy this Christmas classic, told in the style of a live 1940s-era radio broadcast. Tickets are available at AClassicTheatre.org.

 

Holiday Open House & State of the Arts Grant Awards
Tuesday, December 9th at 5 PM

Enjoy light refreshments and a festive atmosphere at The Waterworks. There will be a short ceremony to honor this year's recipients of the Tommy Bledsoe State of the Arts grants followed by a program of holiday musical entertainment.

 

Derek Coughlan Christmas Show
Thursday, December 18th at 7 PM

An irreverent, yet nostalgic look at an Irish Christmas, featuring the eccentricity of family, and the bonkers nature of Irish Christmas traditions. Tickets will be available on Eventbrite.com.

 

St. Augustine Film Society Holiday Party
Friday, December 19th at 7 PM

The St. Augustine Film Society will host a Holiday party featuring holiday-themed short films from around the world, along with games and prizes. 

 

A Guitar Outlaws Christmas: Live from The Waterworks
Saturday, December 20th at 7 PM

The St. Johns Cultural Council and Gamble Rogers Folk Festival present The Guitar Outlaws for a lineup of holiday songs and stories. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com.
