Community ConversationOur team understands T1D can be a traumatic diagnosis for children, young people, and their families. Please join us for a community conversation as we embark on a project to develop a community-led, trauma-informed, psychosocial intervention to improve wellbeing following a diagnosis of T1D. Are you a sports coach? Our researchers have developed educational exercise resources to support coaches to empower kids with T1D to participate more safely in community sport & exercise. If you're a coach we would love your feedback. Oral insulin studyOur researchers would like to find out whether oral insulin is useful in T1D management and is safe for use in individuals with T1D. We are looking for participants aged 16 – 25 years to be involved in the 12-week study. If you are a caregiver of a child living with diabetes aged 10 years or younger, we would love to hear from you. Improving healthcare transitionDo you know someone aged18-25 years who has transitioned to adult diabetes care in the last 5 years? We would like to hear their experiences and ideas on how to improve the healthcare transition. Community forumThank you to all those who attended the Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre Community Forum in late July. It was great to have so many special guest speakers from across Australia and internationally. If you missed the event, you can now watch a recording. Q&A responsesDuring the Community Forum, we had lots of fantastic questions for our guest speakers, researchers and diabetes health experts, but ran out of time to answer them all. We collected the list of questions and our expert team have kindly provided the answers below.
