Banks Peninsula roading updatesCouncil contractors have repaired a significant amount of damage to the roads in Banks Peninsula following significant rainfall on 15 and 16 December 2021. We have made steady progress in Banks Peninsula over the last fortnight. The inconsistent weather has seen some small elements of work delayed by a day or two. However, our contractors have made up for some of these delays by being flexible with their work programme and prioritising work that can be completed when it rains or there are poor ground conditions. Rain over this past week saw the ford at Lavericks Ridge Road wash out. When the water level lowers, we will upgrade the culverts to prevent any ongoing issues. Finally, we want to reassure you that the remedial work in Banks Peninsula remains a priority for us as well as our contractor, Fulton Hogan. Several of our contractors are experiencing staffing shortages due to Covid-19. We have been in discussions with Fulton Hogan to ensure that this work is not impacted by these shortages. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Steve Guy, City Streets Maintenance Manager on 03 941 6683. What still needs to be completed?
