Concerns were raised that the ad was targeting children. Under the AANA Food and Beverages Code, ads for occasional food or beverage products must not target children. The Community Panel found that the product would have significant appeal to children. Additionally, the visuals in the ad, which included occasional foods, would appeal more to children than to adults. Breach - AANA Food and Beverages Advertising Code (Section 3.1 Must not target children) Wheelie reckless behaviourThis Instagram ad shows someone doing a ‘wheelie’ down a public street and raised concerns about unsafe and illegal behaviour. The Community Panel found that the activity was unsafe and likely in breach of road rules. Breach - AANA Code of Ethics (Health and safety) Tread carefullyThis TV ad for Marley Spoon shows a woman sitting on a lounge reading. She is holding the leash of a dog who is walking on a treadmill. The ad raised concerns about unsafe behaviour and possible cruelty to animals. The Community Panel observed that the dog was not tied to the treadmill and did not appear distressed.
