IED Early Career Network UpdateTo further the reach and encourage conversations within the IED an Early Career’s Network has been formed. Currently the network has 16 professionals in their early career journeys within the economic development industry. A Charter for the network has been developed by the members and will be available shortly, setting out the objectives of the network and proposed means of achieving them. The network has a LinkedIn group chat where members are able to openly share industry insights, share career development opportunities as well as discuss and announce network events. Finally, a series called ‘Talks with Experts’ will be commencing on the 19th of April with Nigel Wilcock as the first guest. This interview style meetings will be chaired by a member of the network who will question the guest on themes or topics that members have put forward beforehand. The aim of this conversation will be not only to get to know the industry expert better, but also to delve into further detail on economic development personal interests and insights to help those in their early careers to gain greater insight and hear from more experienced individuals within the industry.
