Five years after the devastating Labor Day wildfires of 2020, recovery continues. It can be agonizingly slow and uneven, with more vulnerable communities rebuilding last.

Collective efforts have forged strong relationships, reformed systems and inspired volunteers to build service organizations that continue to endure long after the disaster. While Labor Day fire communities have yet to fully recover, many count themselves as more resilient — and better prepared for future disasters.

An independent film with a TV/VCR as its central character. An audio archive that celebrates people who stutter. A video series about the Albina neighborhood’s historic Black music scene.
