RPRA Launches a New ‘Where to Recycle’ Map

RPRA recently launched a new ‘Where to Recycle’ map.

Ontarians can use this resource to search for locations to recycle:

  • Batteries
  • Electronics
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Lighting and
  • Tires

There is also general information about recycling these materials in Ontario.

Where to Recycle features public recycling locations for all producer responsibility programs that RPRA oversees (except Blue Box) and displays data reported to RPRA in near real-time. Blue Box materials are not included as that program is serviced by a residence-focused collection system.

The new map replaces RPRA’s previous ‘Find a Collection Site’ map, which only displayed locations for dropping off used tires.

Search Results: Electronics Depot in a 10 km Radius of Barrie

Report an Issue

If you observe an issue at a location displayed on the map, click the ‘Report an Issue’ link on that specific location (see red box in the screenshot below). Once the issue is reported, RPRA’s Compliance Team will review it and take action, as necessary.

Issues at a location that may be reported to RPRA include:

  • Charges a fee to drop off materials accepted for recycling.
  • Refuses to accept materials for recycling (only applicable if materials obligated).
  • Is displayed on the map but does not actually exist.
  • Is not open to the public or does not accept materials during its business hours.

Users will also find FAQs below the map of locations.
